Stevan S. Allen, MA PT
Group Director
Physical Therapist
|
Stevan Allen is the Peninsula Group Director
overseeing all aspects of the organization including clinical services,
programs and new business development for the Peninsula clinics. Stevan
became a member of BAK Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services in
1980 after receiving his Master of Arts degree in Physical Therapy from
Stanford University. Having demonstrated a commitment to profitability
and growth, he became the President and CEO of BAK in 1987. In 2001 BAK
Physical Therapy joined Physiotherapy Associates. BAK has continued to
serve as the exclusive provider of rehabilitation services for Sequoia
Hospital since 1950. Consistent with BAK's core values of community service,
Stevan Allen accepted, on behalf of BAK, the 1998 Sequoia Award for Outstanding
Business, recognizing and acknowledging BAK's dedication and commitment
to community volunteerism. Stevan's extensive continuing education focuses
on orthopedic and sports medicine with a main interest in upper and lower
extremity pathology. He is very involved in both professional and community
organizations with a special interest in supporting youth athletics.
Stevan is fluent in Italian.

Bruce Beekley, PT, MS, Cert MDT

Bruce began working at BAK Physical Therapy
after graduating from the University of Southern California, receiving a
Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1986. Bruce has a high regard for
patient respect and advocacy, and is confident and comfortable treating
a variety of patient's diagnosis. His approach to providing excellent therapy
is patient centered, focuses on involving patients with goal setting, and
held accountable thorough timely communicating with the referring physician.
Bruce maintains his clinical skills with many continuing education courses,
becoming McKenzie approach certified in 2005 and most recently completed
all seven manual therapy courses offered the University of St Augustine.
Bruce incorporates manual therapy with functional training and pain relief.
Additional interests include temporal mandibular disorders (TMD), cervical
generated headaches, and Vestibular Rehabilitation. Bruce also takes pride
in being a mentor for many clinical education affiliations and can be seen
most of the time teaching his techniques to all levels of Physical Therapy
students. He is an active American Physical Therapy Association member,
California Physical Therapy Association, and is extremely active with his
home town of San Carlos coaching youth sports with his two teenage sons.

Henry Wong, DPT
Physical Therapist

Henry graduated from the Doctorate of Physical Therapy
program at University of the Pacific in Stockton. His treatment focuses
on innovative therapeutic exercises to regain balance within the body
to promote healing. Seeing the patient progresses back to a functional
and active lifestyle is what drives him to work hard for the people under
his care. Henry enjoys working out regularly, hiking, camping, and reading
on the latest research in Physical Therapy. He is an active American Physical
Therapy Association member and takes every opportunity to participate
in continue education. Henry has been with BAK Physical Therapy since
November 2008.
Henry is fluent in Cantonese.

Kathy Wasowski, PT OCS
Physical Therapist

Kathy Wasowski received her degree in physical
therapy from University of California, San Francisco in 1981, and has never
stopped learning. She has taken over 50 physical therapy seminars, taught
a Sports Massage class at De Anza College in Cupertino for 8 years, and
is completing her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Creighton University.
Kathy has been a board certified orthopedic specialist for the past 10 years.
Her philosophy of practice is a firm belief that all patients can improve
their physical status and quality of their life with physical therapy, especially
when working in a true partnership with their therapist. After work, Kathy
loves working in her garden, reading, cooking and socializing with family
and friends. Kathy has been with BAK Physical Therapy since February 2008.
Kathy is fluent in Spanish and Farsi. |
Ryan Knight, DPT
Physical Therapist

Ryan Graduated from Creighton University with
his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Ryan has worked with a variety of patient
populations and in a variety of physical therapy settings including acute
care, geriatrics, out patient, and in-patient rehab. Ryan strongly believes
in patient centered care and working with the patient's doctor and the patient
to decide on the best course of treatment for each person. Ryan is a lifelong
student in the art and science of rehabilitative care and enjoys attending
continuing education and staying active with the American Physical Therapy
Association. Ryan has been with BAK Physical Therapy since June 2009. |
Breanna Brewton, ATC

Menlo-Atherton High Trainer

Bre has been with BAK/Physiotherapy Associates
since August 2009. Bre graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany,
OK where she received her B.A. in Athletic Training. She is currently working
towards her M.A. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training at
San Jose State University. Bre has worked with many high school and collegiate
athletes. In her free time, Bre enjoys hiking, camping, reading, watching
and playing sports, and working with the youth in her church. Bre works
at Menlo Park BAK as a physical therapy aide and Menlo-Atherton High School
as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer.

Anita Sheung, MPT

Anita graduated from Samuel Merritt College with a Masters in Physical
Therapy. Throughout the years she has attended various continuing education
courses such as: Kevin Wilk's Recent Advances in
the Evaluation and Treatment of the Shoulder and Knee; Donatelli's Sports
Specific Rehabilitation: Pathomechanics, Evaluation, and Treatment of
the Shoulder and Pelvic Core; Overuse Tendinopathy; University of St.
Augustine Paris Manual Therapy Series; Command Spanish for Healthcare
Providers Module I and II; Mulligan Concept- Spinal & Peripheral Manual
Therapy Techniques for the Upper & Lower Quarter; APTA Clinical Instructor
Education and Credentialing Program; When the Foot Hits the Ground Everything
Changes
Outside of work she enjoys physical fitness, softball, jogging, going
to the movies, volunteer work, as well as, spending time with family and
friends. Anita has been with BAK Physical Therapy since
Anita is fluent in Cantonese.

Brian Latino, ATC

Brian graduated from Chapman University in
Orange, CA with a Bachelor of Art in Athletic Training. Upon Graduation
he received his credentials of ATC and CSCS. Brian's previous work experience
includes working at various Physical Therapy clinics in Southern California
and Woodbridge High School in Orange County, CA as both a Physical Therapy
Aide and Athletic Trainer. Brian's passion includes working with a physically
active population on therapeutic exercise and strength and conditioning
to enhance their quality of life. Personally, Brian has participated in
a variety of different sports over the years include: Ice Hockey, Lacrosse,
Jiu-Jitsu, Waterpolo, Cross Country, Swimming, and Muy Thai. Brian enjoys
keeping himself fit and educating others about leading healthy lifestyles.
Brian has been with BAK Physical Therapy since July 2009.

Valerie Lee, DPT
Physical Therapist

Valerie Lee graduated from the University of California, San Francisco/
San Francisco State University Graduate Physical Therapy program with
a Masters and Doctoral Degree. Through her various experiences in various
physical therapy settings, including outpatient orthopedics and neurology,
inpatient acute care and rehabilitation, and home health, she has learned
to incorporate a well-rounded treatment approach driven around patient-centered
care. Valerie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association
and on her spare time, enjoys playing tennis and softball, exercising,
and spending time with family and friends.

Chris Ryan, MPT, ATC, CSCS
Physical Therapist

Chris graduated with a Masters in Physical
Therapy from Notre Dame College in Manchester , NH . As an undergrad he
studied exercise science, which lead to certifications as a Certified Strength
and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning
Association and Health Fitness Specialist from the American College of Sports
Medicine. He also is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic
Trainers Association. Chris expresses his education and training through
his areas of interest, which include sports medicine, manual medicine (with
a foundation in osteopathic approach), orthopedics, fitness and wellness
and differential diagnosis. His initial training in the physical therapy
field began when he was in the Army where he was trained as a Physical Therapy
Specialist/Assistant.

Gumaro Diaz, ATC

Gumaro has been with BAK/Physiotherapy Associates
since July 2008. Gumaro attended Modesto Junior College, then transferred
to San Jose State University where he majored in kinesiology with an emphasis
in athletic training. One of his notable experiences was working with the
San Jose State University football team during their 2006 Bowl Season. Gumaro
works at Belmont BAK as a physical therapy aide and Sequoia High School
as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer.
